How do you steer?

How do you steer?
Just read this from topgear and got me curious: how do you steer? Shuffing, hand over hand, or other ways not mentioned in the article?

http://www.topgear.com.ph/features/tip-s...ome_feed_1

I usually shuffle my hands when turning corners or making u-turns. But when making quick 3-point turns or parallel parking, I use my right palm para mabilis.

I sometimes see fx, uv and pujs use this turning knob that you clamp onto the steering wheel for one-handed steering, Are those good or bad practice?

RE: How do you steer?
During long drives, pansin ko I tend to use the 9 to 3 position for more comfort. When making turns, usually use my palm for quick turns and parking maneuvers. Hand over hand pag tamad/pagod na. Sobrang gaan naman ng steering kasi ni Mirage kaya ok lang yung palm.

9 and 3 is actually the correct position nga daw now that cars have airbags (prevent injury sa thumbs) and power steering (hindi na kelangan ng bwelo sa pagpihit). Mas komportable pa kasi parang nakasabit lang ang thumbs natin sa dalawang side ng manibela.

Pag usad usad lang sa traffic, sa bottom part lang ako usually humahawak. Pag gitgitan na balik sa 9 and 3.

Shuffling takes too much time. Just imagine yung reaction time mo kung may nagcut sa yo bigla na motorsiklo or kung may tumawid na bata.

RE: How do you steer?
I enjoy driving on mountain passes and winding roads. I corner hard, keeping a firm 9-3 on curves while overlapping arms on the steering going in and out of a sharp corner while accelerating on the apex. Never roll your palm on the steering when taking fast hairpins.

Eurobeat intensifies

Kidding aside, it takes time and practice to do that.

Right hand on the shifter. left hand on the wheel.

RE: How do you steer?
9-3 sa long drive and hand-over-hand kapag parking (parallel), kasi dumulas ng isang beses ung palm ko at natakot ako umulit 1

RE: How do you steer?
9-3 kapag nasa 80+kph na for control if anything goes wrong. 8-4 rest mode, one hand pag chill crusing, pag hard and fast cornering ginagamit ko parin yung method na pang pawis steering, ewan ko ba parang magkakabuhol buhol yung kamay ko pag yung overlapping or hand over hand ang ginagawa ko. really not comfortable with that technique.
